Pepper Steak in a Crock Pot


Ingredients:

2 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 2-inch strips
¾ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cube beef bouillon
¼ cup hot water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ cup chopped onion
2 large green bell peppers, roughly chopped
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with liquid
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Prepare the Beef:
1.1. Season the beef sirloin strips with garlic powder.
1.2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
1.3. Add the beef strips and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Bouillon Mixture:
2.1. In a small bowl, dissolve the beef bouillon cube in hot water.
2.2. Stir in the cornstarch until well combined.

Combine Ingredients in Crock Pot:
3.1. In the crock pot, add the browned beef strips, chopped onion, and green bell peppers.
3.2. Pour in the stewed tomatoes with their liquid.
3.3. Add the soy sauce, white sugar, and salt.
3.4. Pour the bouillon mixture over the top.

Cook:
4.1. Cover the crock pot and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, or until the beef is tender and the flavors are well combined.

Serve:
5.1. Serve the pepper steak over a bed of rice or noodles.
5.2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
