I just baked this delicious caramel apple pie, perfect for a cool fall day!

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
2 large apples, peeled, canned, and chopped
1/2 cup caramel sauce

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch pie pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Fold in chopped apples. Pour batter into prepared pie pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
