Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 box (16 oz) ziti pasta, uncooked
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
Cook Ground Beef:
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Mix Cheese Filling:
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and Italian seasoning.
Layer Ingredients in Slow Cooker:
Spread a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add a layer of uncooked ziti, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture, and then ground beef. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of sauce.
Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until pasta is tender.
Add Mozzarella:
Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy!
